Our Story

I Fucking Love Your Hair originated from impulsive outbursts from Franky while admiring the hair she'd created with her clients, but it quickly took on a life of its own when she started printing stickers to distribute to people she’d met in the wild. The simple goal of spreading joy quickly became a major hit, and before she knew it, Franky was inundated with requests for more.

Although initially hesitant about branding, Franky eventually embraced the idea and took her game to the next level. She created this kick-ass website and built a strong social media presence to keep her followers engaged (16K on Instagram & 26k on TikTok). What started as a simple hobby quickly transformed into a booming business, proving that the most successful ventures often sprout from the most unexpected beginnings.

Shit hit the fan for Franky in 2019 when she was hit hard with a massive burnout. After 12 years of sacrificing important moments and constantly battling for basic rights (like a fucking lunch break), she found herself feeling resentful, lost, and on the edge of quitting the hair industry. Overwhelmed, and with no clue what to do next, she hired an incredible business mentor Cyd Charisse to help.

Franky learned how to build self-esteem and tap into her own inner FUCK YES.

Oh March 10, 2020, Franky fearlessly flung open the doors to her very own private studio, aptly named I Fucking Love Your Hair. Despite the ✨unprecedented times✨, Franky's relentless hustle paid off in explosive growth. Within just two years, she had not only hired two badass employees but also expanded the brand to include We Fucking Love Your Hair.

Although the two micro salon’s had been a cozy setting, Franky knew she wasn’t done growing. The fear of expanding into a “real” salon multiplied by some serious existential dread, lead Franky to hire her second mentor Nikola Salter. After almost two years of searching, she found her literal dream location in the West Town, Ukrainian Village neighborhood of Chicago.

Impact

At WFLYH, we lead with empathy, trust, and a fuck ton of transparency. Our stylists specialize in services that align with their skills, attracting their ideal clients to the chair. They have the freedom to choose schedules that work best for them and their clients.

We believe in upfront pricing—no slimy 'gotcha' bills after your session. Double booking? Fuck that. We honor each client with exclusive attention, ensuring no distractions. And gratuity? It’s awkward as fuck and rooted in racist & misogynist traditions, so we’ve axed it entirely.
