Chelsea is a hair wizard and I'm so glad I was introduced to her through my former stylist. I have a good amount of hair, but it is fine, unruly, and responds in very interesting ways to bleaching/toning. Chelsea is the only stylist that has every really figured it out. She is amazing at creative cuts and color. -RM

Chelsea is truly the best! I went to her for a vivid/special effects color of blue/aqua. I'd been trying to get this color 2 other times but never achieved the result I was looking for. Chelsea listened to me, and we talked during our consultation about what I was looking for. She was detailed; we didn't just talk color but tones and shades, and she said we’d work together to achieve exactly what I wanted. She even added a few extra steps to the process (a toner after I was lifted before color and olaplex) to get the color right and keep my hair healthy. I have a TON of hair, and it's long, but that did not phase Chelsea at all. During our 5-hour appointment, Chelsea was lovely and kind the whole time. - SL

After years of not coloring my hair I finally decided to do something different. THANK GOODNESS FOR CHELSEA! It was important to me not to damage my hair with bleach and she made sure my hair stayed healthy. She did a beautiful black to blue ombre color. She even made a colored conditioner for in between sessions. Chelsea is fantastic! -EP

Chelsea was recommended to me by a fellow curly haired girlie (3b/3c texture) about 2 years ago. When I first came to Chelsea, I hadn’t gotten a cut in over 3 years, my hair was uneven in weird places, and it was full of dead ends. Over the next two years, seeing her for cuts every 3-4 months, Chelsea was able to successfully correct the weird uneven growth problem I kept experiencing, all while honoring my preference for maintaining as much length as possible. Most recently, I got my usual curly long cut and was also interested in trying out permanent color for the first time, but very apprehensive about the process. Chelsea diligently answered all of my questions and assuaged all of my concerns. I’m super happy with my new cherry cola color. Note: in the photos I have a blowout, my natural texture is about 2c/3a.

Chelsea is incredibly knowledgeable about curly hair and is committed to educating herself, her clients, and other stylists about curly hair. Every appointment with Chelsea is calm and relaxing. Every time I come in, she remembers every detail of what we discussed during our last appointment. She is transparent and fair with pricing, and effectively and collaboratively communicates her game plan for my hair care. Chelsea is a very skilled, experienced, and committed stylist who provides an excellent customer experience with each visit. Finding a trustworthy stylist for curly hair can be so challenging - I cannot recommend Chelsea enough! -MM

If you’re looking for a boring haircut, keep scrolling, WFLYH is NOT your salon. Nelson and Chelsea are wonderful and insanely attentive. I walk in looking like a stressed raccoon and leave looking like a shampoo commercial who pays their taxes on time.

I appreciate the professionalism and how everyone here really cares about the integrity of your hair. If I come in for “just a trim”, that somehow translates into “make me look like I have my life together.” For someone with curly, fine, chemically treated hair, I have no worries getting services from either stylist. They know what they’re doing.

I also truly value small business and small biz owners who care about the people that work inside their walls. It really shows.

The space is super cozy. I’ve been going to Chelsea for almost five years and she’s the best stylist I’ve ever had! I have been working with Chelsea for about two years now and I don’t say this lightly when I say she has transformed my hair and the way I am able to present to the world. She is obviously incredibly talented and knowledgeable but on TOP OF THAT she is an amazing collaborator and has been able to create amazing cuts that fit whatever criteria we are working with at a time. I am incredibly blessed that Chelsea cuts my hair and with a razor no less. I've been seeing Chelsea for around 5 years now and I've never been disappointed with her service. When I first went to see her, I was growing out my hair after shaving my head. She helped me figure out what to do with my hair and I had absolute trust in her the whole time. I have very curly hair and I always felt nervous when going to someone new because up until that point I had gotten ok results at hair salons. I started seeing her at Little Broken Things when I found that they had curly specialists and followed her to Goldust Studios because Chelsea has more than earned my trust. I can't recommend Chelsea enough, she's a great hairstylist, she listens to what you want and will work with you to get it, and I always look forward to our conversations. -MS

Chelsea at WFLYH always delivers a beautifully sculpted razor cut.
